WHERE MY STORY BEGINS
I've never been much of a writer, let alone, a blogger. My goal is to be completely re-branded by the end of 2018 with my photography business. Redirecting my photography focus and opening up to new opportunities is a scary thing but I've gotta start somewhere. I made the plunge and invested into new camera equipment that has opened my creative can of worms. I have so much support from my friends and loved ones. My family has grown by two since this journey started back in 2008. Life has given me its own set of challenges but I have overcome them and I am more me than I have ever been.
So here is to my first blog and to this crazy thing I call life!
Born and raised in Vail, Arizona and being the daughter of an artist and freelance photographer, I have always had a love for photography. When I was younger, about 6 years old, my father sat me on his lap while on a train ride around The Grand Canyon area and I took my first picture of mine and dads reflection in a mirror that was in front of our table. I fell in love with photography after that moment. Growing up, my dad gave me my first 35mm Minolta camera. We would go into the yard and take pictures of each other being goofballs or taking striking artist poses. As I have grown older, I have taken more of a creative style. I love shooting with vintage anything! No matter what other ventures I take on, my heart has always lead me back to photography. There is just something about capturing life's little moments that brings joy to my heart for myself and my clients.
I always loved photography but didn't really think it was necessary until my daughter Kadence was about 2 years old. I realized that my dad had documented all my lifes little moments throughout my childhood. Whether it was a missing tooth,a new outfit or even the first day of school. I am in love with documenting my daughters life. Its bittersweet to watch her learn and grow but I have captured all her little moments along the way. I will always look back on them and be so thankful I have those memories.
I love developing relationships with my clients. The real joy is when my clients return with their milestones and growing families. I absolutely love giving my clients moments frozen in time to decorate their walls of their homes. I love nothing more to walk into my clients home for friendly visits and see all the images from our sessions telling stories on their walls! When I photograph my clients, I enjoy interacting with them and allowing them to be silly. I love those real candid moments that tell a story all by themselves.
LOOK AT ME NOW
My business has completely transformed and has grown so much in the last 10 years. I have the best clients, whom I adopt and call family. The support that I have from my clients and my family in so treasured and will always be appreciated!
I'm proud of where I am and if my dad was alive to see it, I know he'd be proud of me too. I've been able to pass down my passion to my little ones and they cling to it like I did and its amazing to watch them learn my trade like I did. Being able to capture them in all these little moments along the way has been a dream come true. Its everything that I imagined my little family would be.
Thanks for the time you took to read my very first blog and please follow if you wish to continue the journey.
